Make money from Amazon

Welcome to a new lesson in our Amazon Income Course. I want to wish you a happy New Year and fruitfulness all year round.  My experiment with the Amazon Associate program has been totally successful (I earned $1442 in December last year) and I believe any one (who is prepared to work hard) can earn much more from the program.
If you sincerely want to make a success of the business, I urge you to get old copies of  in which we have been discussing the trade secrets. We have already said there are 4 steps to success in this business.

Step No 1: Proper Keyword research

Step No 2: Quality Article Writing

Step No 3: WordPress Blog Set Up and Customization

Step No 4: Traffic Generation

In this lesson, we want to move to WordPress set up and customization. Before you can set up a self-hosted WordPress blog, you have to get a domain name and hosting. You can get a domain name from Bit.ly/10Bu1CM while hosting can be purchased from Bit.ly/12IY8dj.

Alternatively, you can buy a hosting package from established Nigerian Internet marketers like me.

1) Once you have the two, you can proceed with setting up your blog. To do that, you have to enter your cPanel with the username and password your host sent to you after you ordered the package.
Once you’ve logged in, Scroll down and click on QuickInstall under ‘Software/Services’.

Click on ‘QuickInstall’

2) Then you will be landed on a new page. Just click on WordPress under ‘Blog Software’. You will see a short description of WordPress’ newest version.
Click Continue to start Installation.

Select WordPress and Click ‘Continue’

3. Then it will show an ‘Install WordPress’ Form.

Check the following instructions

http:// Select the desired domain name. If it is your first blog then you will have only one option.
Admin Email: Put your Email there. If you forget your Username or Password, you can get it via this Email.
Blog Title: The name of your blog. You can change it later.
Admin User: It will be the Username of your WordPress Dashboard.
First Name: It will be added to Admin Profile. You can change it anytime after install.
Last Name: This is also the part of Admin Profile name. You can change it later.

Then Click on Install Now! button.
4. That’s it. Your Installation is ready. They will show you the Admin Area, Username and Password.
5. Go to Admin area, put your username and Password and click on ‘Log in’.

Once you have installed your blog, you have to customize it by installing plugins and themes. Plugins extend the functionality of a WordPress blog; they make a blog do more than it was supposed to do. Popular plugins that I use include WordPress SEO, Better WP Security, Akismet, Contact Form, Google Analytics for WordPress, Limit Login Attempts, Pretty Link Lite, Really simple Facebook Twitter share buttons, TablePress and WPtouch Mobile Plugin. These plugins make running your blog easy.

When it comes to themes, I insist on using free themes initially until a website turns out to be profitable. All I just do is to order a header graphic from a trusted Fiverr provider for $5. This makes my website look professional to an extent until I can invest in a full-fledged website design.

For my front page, I use a static page instead of latest posts. This page doesn’t change even when I post new articles. You can do this through your settings. The article on the static page targets the keyword I want my site to focus on.

Aside the article, I also place a comparison table on my home page. This drives affiliate sales and saves visitors time in making purchasing decisions; as they can quickly compare products and decide which to purchase. You can see an example of this at www.apennyshaved.com.

For categories, I initially just create two. The first one is for informational articles on the niche while the second is for actual product reviews in the niche. As time goes by, I create more categories for popular brands and alongside price lines. For instance, I could have a category for products under $100, Under $200, etc.  All in all, I try to create a great user experience for visitors to my blog and make searching for the products they want to purchase easy.

That is all for this lesson; let’s do this another time.
